Description of the type 200 locomotives
This new type, whose construction had been entrusted to the S.A.C.M. of Belfort, differed from the Charente model by the raising of the stamp of the boiler from 10 to 11 kg and by the increase in the diameter of the driving wheels (1,000 m as opposed to 0.900 m), these two parameters allowing it to maintain the same traction force. The wheelbase and length of the machine had therefore had to be modified. The water tanks had been extended to the front of the cylindrical body, increasing their capacity by 1000 I.
As a result, the resulting new machine, the manufacturer's Type 110, increased its weight by approximately 1 t.
Furthermore, this locomotive had an exterior appearance comparable to the basic type.
The last two examples delivered had direct-charge valves placed on the steam intake dome.
The machines were painted very dark green and the front and rear crossbeams were painted red, bordered in white. The water tanks bore two oval plates, one from the manufacturer at the shelter, the other bearing the name of the company and the registration of the machine. These plates, which had been subjected to the buffer crossings, were white on either side of the centre buffer. For the last two examples, the manufacturer's Type 173 from Graffenstaden, the oval company plate had been replaced by two rectangular plates, one bearing the monogram C.F.D. and the other the vehicle registration.
A rectangular license plate had also been fixed on the smoke box door.
