The mastery of the design and manufacture of mechanical sub-assemblies guarantees technical follow-up for the very long life of railway vehicles. This is why CFD remains committed to offering its own cranes. Mounted on the whole range of B, C or BB type locomotives, they are designed to last.
Presentation
The CFD PR21 axle is designed for a wheel bore diameter up to of 215mm, allowing a maximum load of 20t per axle (22t under conditions). Contrary to many existing solutions, the bevel gear is installed on the input stage of the bridge. This mounting allows the input shaft to be mounted without overhang, which improves efficiency and increases the service life of the assembly. The secondary stage consists of a parallel-shaft reduction stage with the gearwheel shrunk onto the axle
The double reduction of the axle allows a wide range of reduction ratios (from 3.1 to 7.2). Lubrication is by splash or forced lubrication depending on the application. Each bearing has a dedicated lubrication line.
