The first railcar manufactured by CFD at the Montmirail workshops for the Corsican network succeeds in meeting the challenge of being at the same time inexpensive to purchase, economical in operation with high performance thanks to its high power-to-weight ratio
In order to reduce its cost, it was agreed with the customer to use road transport techniques for its manufacture and to have a service life of 15 years. They will be used for more than 30 years. The fuel savings achieved with this railcar were considerable for the network.
